Central Coast Watercolor Instruction
THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT (MORE AVAILABLE IN THE COMING MONTHS)
Join us for a peaceful and inspiring 3-hour watercolor workshop as we paint
Villa Creek — a sweeping coastal cove framed by rolling hills, distant mountains, and rhythmic shoreline waves. This luminous seascape captures the beauty of
California’s coastline with soft atmospheric layers, curving surf lines, and sunlit sand. Designed for beginners and intermediate painters, this class offers clear, step-by-step instruction in a relaxed and supportive environment.
What You’ll Learn:
How to create depth using atmospheric perspective in distant hills and mountains
Blending smooth, glowing sky and ocean washes
Painting gentle wave patterns and shoreline foam
Capturing the curve of a beach using value shifts
Suggesting rocky foreground texture with expressive brushwork
Balancing soft passages with strong shadow shapes for contrast
Participants will learn how to control water and pigment to create both soft transitions and confident, bold marks. By the end of the class, participants will lave with a completed coastal watercolor painting, as well as greater confidence and practical techniques to apply to future work at home.
Length: 3 hours
All materials included. **Appropriate for teen participants.
